Special Educational Needs

Special Educational Needs

Parents are a child’s first and most important educators. We believe that strong collaboration between home, school and parish is essential in supporting every child’s development.

At St Joseph the Worker, we are committed to inclusive practice and high-quality teaching for all pupils, regardless of their individual needs. Our aim is to ensure that every child is supported to achieve their full potential and feels valued as a member of our school community. We hold high expectations for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), using national benchmarks alongside pupils’ individual starting points to measure progress.

We strive to provide appropriate support for pupils with SEND while ensuring they have access to a broad and balanced curriculum. By working closely with families, we aim to nurture confident, resilient learners who are well prepared for the next stage of their education.

For further information, please refer to our SEND Report and SEND Policy below.

In the first instance, please discuss your concern with our SENCO, Mrs J. Jessop. If the matter remains unresolved, you should follow the school’s SEN Complaints Procedure, which can be downloaded below.
