Service of Remembrance
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils were thrilled to welcome Royal Marines officer Ricky Atkinson, who shared his fascinating experiences and the vital role he plays in our armed forces.
Ricky took the time to engage our young learners in discussions about the importance of remembrance, talking to them about the Service of Remembrance and parade held in Irlam every year. The children were especially excited to try on some of the Marine kit and even had a go at camouflaging themselves!
Experiencing these insights first-hand has not only sparked their interest in our military, but has also deepened their understanding of remembrance and honouring our heroes.
A massive thank you to local lad Ricky and Irlam Rotary Club for organising this visit from all of us! We’re grateful for your service and the inspiration you’ve bestowed upon our students.
